The Weddell Duo is unique in several key ways:

  1. Certified & Verified Performance: It’s the only shower filter certified by NSF to reduce Free Available Chlorine, while also maintaining verified performance in reducing PFAS and microplastics, and other contaminants. Most other filters don’t have these certifications and can't guarantee the same level of protection.
  2. Clinically Tested & Dermatologist Approved: Weddell Duo has been clinically tested to improve skin hydration and scalp health, and is dermatologist approved, making it an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin or scalp concerns.
  3. Clear Dual Cartridges for Easy Monitoring: The Weddell Duo has clear dual cartridges, allowing you to see the condition of your filters. The right sediment filter shows discoloration over time, signaling when it needs to be replaced.
  4. Long-Lasting Filters: Weddell Duo’s filters have a life cycle of up to 8,000 gallons, offering longer-lasting protection compared to many other filters on the market.
  5. Easy Installation: Installation istool-freeand the Weddell Duo is compatible with a variety of shower heads, including rain, fixed, and handheld models.

Weddell Duo is designed to significantly reduce a wide range of contaminants including chlorine, PFAS, microplastics, heavy metals, and other sediments. This helps to improve the quality of your shower water for healthier skin and hair.

Weddell Duo Shower Filter is NSF certified and has been rigorously tested and verified by an accredited third party lab to ensure high performance. Below are the specific contaminants it removes:

  • Free Available Chlorine: 99%
  • PFAS: 99%
  • Microplastics: 99%

While Weddell Duo reduces other contaminants, we only publish reduction claims for those we have tested using established industry standards to prioritize transparency and reliability. Please see our testing data here for the most updated information.

You can find documentation on NSF's website here.

Weddell Duo was verified to reduce PFAS and microplastics at IAMPO Lab in 2023. Backed by more than 80 years of IAPMO experience, IAPMO R&T Lab is a trusted name for independent testing, research, and technical services in the plumbing and mechanical industries. However, at this time, IAMPO does not offer certifications specifically for PFAS and microplastics reduction in shower filters. Instead, please take a look at our lab test reports here.

No. Weddell Duo is not designed to be used as a drinking water filter.

You should change your filters if any of the following occurs: 1) 5-6 months has passed, 2) you notice decreased water pressure and/or filter discoloration, or 3) when the rated capacity of the filter cartridge has been reached.

The frequency of replacement depends on your water usage and the quality of your water supply. Regular replacement ensures that your shower water remains clean and safe.

Replacing the filters is easy! The Weddell Duo's clear dual-cartridge system allows you to monitor their condition. Simply remove the filter cartridges chambers by gently turning them counter clockwise twist and replace. No tools are required.

For additional help, please watch our replacement guide video here.

Factors like hard or highly contaminated tap water, heavy sediment, or frequent use can cause your filters to slow down sooner than expected. This is because the filters are capturing more material than typical municipal water, and as it works harder to remove contaminants, the available space for water to pass through becomes filled. While the water flow may slow, this doesn’t mean the filters are defective—it means it’s doing its job effectively. The more contaminants and materials it captures, the sooner it will need to be replaced.

  • Full Set: Includes just one full set of filters (1 black and 1 white) for a single replacement.
  • Twin Pack Replacement Cartridges: Includes two full sets of filters (2 black and 2 white), providing two full replacements.
  • Full Set + Extra Filters: Includes one full set of filters (1 black and 1 white) plus two extra white sediment filters, offering three replacements in total.

Yes, the Weddell Duo Shower Filter is designed for easy, tool-free installation. It fits most standard showers and can be installed in minutes without the need for professional help.

Nope, installing Weddell Duo is tool-free!

However, depending on how old your shower arm is, you may need a wrench to remove your existing shower head.

Yes, Weddell Duo is designed to be compatible with most standard shower heads—as long as it can fit into your shower arm or water outlet pipe. Whether you have a fixed, handheld, or rainfall shower head, the Weddell Duo can be easily installed to provide clean, filtered water for your shower.

Weddell Duo is designed to have minimal impact on water pressure. Since our maximum Gallons Per Minute (GPM) rate is 2.8 GPM, which is much higher than typical shower heads (2.5 GPM or less), your overall water pressure will be determined not by Weddell Duo, but by your shower head.

However, as Weddell Duo reaches its full capacity, the accumulation of filtered impurities may slow down the water pressure. This is an indication that it's time to replace the filter cartridges to ensure optimal performance and maintain water pressure.

Maintaining your Weddell Duo Shower Filter is simple. Regularly check the filter cartridge for any buildup of sediments and replace it every 3 to 6 months. For the housing, a gentle wipe with a damp cloth is sufficient to keep it clean. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners to ensure the longevity of the filter.
